In the fall of 2009, we participated in, and have since graduated from, an exciting and relatively new program in Vancouver called Climate Smart; the program seemed like a natural fit to our ongoing efforts to leave as small a business footprint as possible. Climate Smart evolved from the recognition that small and medium sized local enterprises have been largely overlooked when it came to addressing issues relevant to climate change. We learned about the possibilities, and inherent limitations, in our retail business model and how to address them in constructive ways. And we've since taken steps at reducing our footprint on our world. We plan on continuing to monitor our GHG emissions as well as implement ways to reduce them. After all, we're in the kids business, and they're inheriting this earth from us, so let's leave them the cleanest home we possibly can.
