My wife and I just celebrated six years of marriage and as a little gift to her, I wanted for the both of us to get away for one night (organized our daughter to stay at grandma's). I wanted to find a quality B&B, not too far, walks in the woods, etc. After looking at many places on Bowen and the Sunshine Coast, I came across the Bowen Island Hideaway. As with everything on the web, you have to be prepared that what you saw might not be what you get. But this place was everything and more. Stylish, well-appointed rooms (they only have two suites to choose from!), great bathtub, comfy king size bed, local Bowen Island soaps and shampoos, quiet, and a great view. Then in the morning, we both sat down to a beautiful and healthy breakfast (they buy local and organic) looking out over Killarney Lake. And the trail to walk around the lake starts right at the base of the hill below the rooms. Great for digestion! Oh, did I forget to mention the hot tub?
